Radars use resonance and computers to scan returning signals to produce images on dem radar screens. The FAA and US Air Force use the Joint Surveillance System doppler radars to bounce high frequency (inaudible) radio waves off the ionosphere scanning for aircraft, ufo’s, and terrorists on pink elephants. By nature, these high frequency transmissions are short lived (their wavelength means they decay fast) and do not penetrate solid objects, such as stone buildings.

In order to talk to yellow submarines far below the surface of the ocean, VLF or Very Low Frequency radio broadcasting antennas are predominately used. Unlike radar signals, these multi-million watt broadcasts can be heard worldwide. They are studied and monitored by scientific groups for various purposes.
There’s only one reason to communicate with a submarine, nuclear warfare baby. The signal broadcast to submarines would be very short and nondescript, like “PING” or “HEY NAO!”. This would signal the submarine to surface to receive instructions on who to obliterate in a ninja-style first-strike. The US Navy’s Cutler VLF station is the king of the hill (1,800 kW) when it comes to signalling the apocalypse.

As if that wasn’t strong enough, they upped the ante with their US Navy ELF transmitter in Clam Lake, Wisconsin and Republic, Michigan. This facility featured miles of cables suspended above the ground on telephone poles, throughout the wooded countryside. Tuned to 76 Hz and powered by 3,000,000 watts, this ELF facility produced a whopping 3 watt output that could be heard worldwide. It also produced the Taos Hum, a warm fuzzy feeling accompanied by a ‘low, grumbling noise on the threshold of audibility,’ reported by hundreds of residents nearby.
A 1996 study to see if electromagnetic radiation from these facilities affected local wildlife concluded there was nothing substantial to report, despite however the facility was still ordered closed in 1998. According to THE OPEN LAB’s – ELF and VLF frequency Guide, it was still transmitting in 2001. September 30, 2004, the site administrator wrote a “rest in peace” letter upon the facilities closure.
A 1971 Navy study determined that electromagnetic fields associated with ELF caused stunted growth in rats. The military sat on the details of these findings until 1976, even as concerned citizens worked to unearth information on potential health impacts of the ELF waves. The Navy convened the Ad Hoc Committee for the Review of Biomedical and Ecological Effects of ELF Radiation to analyze their research in 1973. The committee’s members raised concerns over potentially serious health problems related to the technology, though their worries carried little weight with militarists desiring a different message. The ad hoc committee’s findings only reached the public once Senator Gaylord Nelson, an environmentalist and progressive Democrat, raised a stink and released the report himself.

For years, people have been routinely arrested for trespassing in acts of civil disobedience at the 13-acre Clam Lake site. Critics have contended the system is for use during a first-strike nuclear attack, became obsolete
with the Cold War’s end and may cause health and environmental problems.
The Navy began using the $400 million system in 1989. The annual operating costs for both ELF transmitters is $13 million. Each site has one Navy worker and 27 civilian contractors.
Project ELF was scaled down from the original 1960s plan, which included a grid of 6,200 miles of buried cable and 100 transmitters that would withstand a nuclear war. In earlier times, it was called Project Seafarer and Project Sanguine.

HAARP is a group of facilities working in concert, HAARP, HIPAS, and Poker Flat.
To fully understand HAARP, you’ll need some catching up:

HAARP communicates with submarines by heating the ionosphere with a high frequency microwave signal. With an increase in temperature comes an increase in pressure. Just like the microwave in your kitchen, this heater (the HAARP IRI) causes the atmosphere to swell and wobble, creating pressure and gravity waves, as well as deep ELF bass tones that encircle the globe. Think of the deep flapping sound you get in a new car when you open a window, this is a bass resonance effect. The bass in dubstep music typically falls in the 15 to 100 Hz range. Humans can only hear sound from 20 to 20,000 Hertz. Anything below 20 hertz cannot be heard, it can, however, be felt. These pressure waves travel through all solid and fluid objects. When a car goes by with the stereo blasting, you can hear the voices of the music as the car passes, but the bass is heard before and after as it is non directional and passes through the vehicle easily. Do a google search for “HAARP ELF generation” and you’ll clearly see that HAARP can fulfill the role of a Clam Lake replacement.
Unlike the Clam Lake facility, HAARP has the added benefit of being a steerable antenna. The antennas can fire their pulses in sequences that cause the radiated beam to take certain shapes:

The invention relates generally to transmission of pulses of energy, and more particularly to the propagation of localized pulses of electromagnetic or acoustic energy over long distances without divergence.
As the Klingon battle cruiser attacks the Starship Enterprise, Captain Kirk commands “Fire photon torpedoes”. Two darts or blobs of light speed toward their target to destory the enemy spaceship. Stardate 1989, Star Trek reruns, or 3189, somewhere in intergalactic space. Fantasy or reality. The ability to launch localized packets of light or other energy which do not diverge as they travel great distances through space may incredibly be at hand.
Following the pioneering work of J. N. Brittingham, various groups have been actively pursuing the possibility that solutions to the wave equation can be found that allow the transmission of localized, slowly decaying pulses of energy, variously described as electromagnetic missiles or bullets, Bessel beams, transient beam fields, and splash pulses. These efforts have in common the space-time nature of the solutions being investigated and their potential launching mechanisms, pulse-driven antennas.
Solutions to Maxwell’s equations follow naturally from these scalar wave equation solutions. Such electromagnetic pulses, characterized by their high directionality and slow energy decay, are called electromagnetic directed-energy pulse trains (EDEPTs). They are a step closer to a classical description of a photon, a finite-energy solution of Maxwell’s equations that exhibits a wave/particle duality. Beam characteristics such as beamwidth and beam intensity of short-pulse radiation with electromagnetic missile effect, not restricted to the electromagnetic missile, are generally range dependent in pulse propagation. These techniques can be used to modify the weather, alter the jetstream, lift the ionosphere, blow up missles with EMP, and scare the hell out of birds.
THE DEEP 2.5
There’s wide speculation that HAARP is the source of a new 2.5 Hz signal heard worldwide, though this claim is still unproven. I have yet to find any credible evidence proving HAARP is broadcasting this signal, however, based on the assumption that no other device on the planet is capable, we shall assume HAARP is producing this tone using resonance in our atmosphere (more later).
2.5 Hz SIGNAL ACTIVE
Presumed, but not yet verified as a man-made signal. Detected at various locations worldwide. With amateur equipment, it is not easy to determine eventual frequency shifts, so signal is listed as a 2.5 Hz carrier. So far the signal is not connected with any known geophysical events. Most likely not originating from HAARP – Gakona in Alaska USA. They have little success, with the generation of ELF signals of reasonable strength, over anything then relative short distances.
This 2.5 Hz signal is of such a low frequency that it should pass directly through our planet, making it ideal for tomography, or imaging by sections or sectioning, through the use of any kind of penetrating wave. Many attribute this signal with the generation of large earthquakes, let’s explore that theory. Could this 2.5 Hz signal have something to do with the moon echoes?
Two days after September 11, 2001, HAARP began pulsing signals at our moon, which bounced back (echo) and were received at the Long Wavelength Array in New Mexico, at the foot of the Expanded Very Large Array.

The HF Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) in Alaska, and the Long Wavelength Array (LWA) in New Mexico, conducted a bistatic low frequency lunar radar experiment in October 2007. A team of scientists from the Naval Research Laboratory, the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL’s) Research Vehicles Directorate, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., and the University of New Mexico (UNM) has detected the lowest frequency radar echo from the moon ever seen with earth-based receivers.

Of particular interest is to use LOFAR in combination with so called ionospheric HF interaction facilities. Such facilities are relatively simple to build, using commercially available HF radio transmitters and antennas. Existing systems today include the high-latitude facilities HAARP and HIPAS, Alaska, and EISCAT/Heating (Tromso), Norway, and the mid-latitude Sura facility, Russia.
For nearly 30 years, a low-latitude facility was available at the Arecibo Observatory, Puerto Rico. A few years ago it was destroyed in a hurricane. There are now advanced plans to build a new HF interaction facility at Arecibo. Similar facilities have been proposed for equatorial latitudes both in Africa and in Asia.

The HAARP radar antenna array was “phased” to point about 45 degrees away from the zenith, in order to track and directly illuminate the moon. Its full total power capability, about 3.6 MW, was used to transmit pulses two seconds in length every five seconds over a period of two hours each day, one hour at each frequency. Using such a pulse pattern makes the echo, which arrives back from the moon 2.4 seconds later, immediately recognizable, allowing the scientists to distinguish the moon’s echo signal from the HAARP signal. The HAARP signal reached the receiving antennas in New Mexico by reflecting off the underside of the ionosphere, the region of the Earth’s atmosphere from 50 to 400 km in altitude that is partially ionized by solar radiation

The project was focused on studying, experimentally, features of seismic energy generation and partitioning of P and S waves from different explosive seismic sources, at near-source and regional distances, in the time and spectral domain. An extensive database of Ground Truth single-fired explosions was created. The explosions selected contain a broad variety of design features (buried and surface sources, tamped and decoupled shots, large diameter 0.5-0.8m borehole and near-spherical cavity charges), charge weight (100-32500kg), depth (14–62m), scaled burial depth (1.0-3.9m/kg 1/3), emplacement rocks (alluvium, basalts, marls) and geological settings.
The Ground Truth Database contains a collection of events of ground truth (GT) quality to support location calibration studies. The database includes nuclear and chemical explosions, mine blasts, rock bursts and earthquakes. The database contains only shallow focus (less than 40 km focal depth) earthquakes, because deep focus earthquakes are of less interest for nuclear test monitoring.
Seismic and acoustic recordings are particularly important to help identifying andlocating industrial blasting sources.

This project took advantage of Soviet-era digital seismic recordings, all of them made at the Borovoye Geophysical Observatory in Kazakhstan, of ground motion from numerous underground nuclear explosions that occurred in Eurasia over a period of three decades, from 1966 to 1995.

We developed P- and S- wave velocity structures in the crust and upper mantle in the Arabian-Eurasian collision zone and surrounding areas, including Iran, Arabia, Eastern Turkey, and the Caucasus.
We first obtain Pn and Sn velocities using local and regional arrival time data. Second, we obtain the 3-D crustal P and S velocity models. Third, we extend the model into the upper mantle and transition zone by combining local, regional and teleseismic data and crust model constraints. To extend the model deeper into the mantle through the upper mantle transition zone, ISC/EHB data for P and PP phases are combined with the ABCE data. To counteract the “smearing effect,” the crust and upper mantle velocity structure, derived from regional travel-times, is used. An adaptive grid method based on ray density is used in the inversion. A P-wave velocity model extending down to a depth of 2000 km is obtained. regional-teleseismic tomography provides a high-resolution, 3-D P-wave velocity model for the crust, upper mantle, and the transition zone. The crustal models correlate well with geologic and tectonic features. The upper mantle tomograms show the images of the subducted Neotethys slab. The slab geometry is quite complex, reflecting the history of the changes in the plate motions and collision processes.
Vp/Vs tomography was also determined in the study region, and an attenuation tomography was obtained in Iran.
Tomography in Iran means “Underground Base Surveillance”
Whether or not HAARP is producing it, this 2.5 Hertz tone is heard worldwide, making it ideal for tomography. Is this some sort of moon echo? Who knows? With supercomputers like Blue-Gene, LOFAR, and HAARP, you would think they could create some serious 3D models of the caves used to store weapons of mass destruction. This tone is clearly visible on HAARP’s induction magnetometer.
1977 PDF: 4004212 – (US Army) Mine detector system
A mine detector system that utilizes an explosive comparator to increase sensitivity and selectivity. The system utilizes a generator to transmit a signal simultaneously toward the area to be scanned for mines and towards a sample of the explosive sought. Detectors are positioned within the device to receive the reflected signals from both the area to be scanned and the sample explosive. The outputs from both detectors are fed to preferably a null type comparator for correlation. When the two signals correlate, mine presence is indicated.
The Earthquake Connection:
A 2.5 Hertz tone, regardless of source, with enough power, can create an earthquake.
